Welcome to "Take him to the Streets"

We pray and ask our lord for the divine appointments with meeting people who want to receive Jesus as their personal savior. Also we believe in God uses us to help with his plan to transform and help homeless men and women enter back into society with dignity to become role models for Christ.

We look forward to the day we can see God’s plan for us to actually have a Christian based facility to house and feed people in need and find jobs for them. We thank God in advance for the opportunity to share his gospel, because everyone needs to know Jesus, Amen.

Founder’s Testimony

Leon Edwards Chairman & Founder of Take Him to the Streets Ministry

On February 20, 2006 God had a calling on my life. I was on my way downtown Miami to drop off clothes to Camillus House when I was stopped by two homeless men asking for a few dollars. I gave them $10.00 dollars each, they thanked me and said, “God bless you for the love gift”. At that moment, God spoke to my heart and told me to pull over and give the clothes and shoes to the homeless people in the streets.

I asked everyone to line up and I started passing out the clothes from the back of my car. They were so excited to receive the clothes and I was equally excited to the joy on their faces, that it was overwhelming. I knew it was a divine appointment from God. I had never experienced a feeling like that before and I wanted to do more. I asked them if they were hungry and of course everyone said YES! I drove to a nearby McDonald’s and ordered 75 cheeseburgers and fries to go. The store manager wanted to know what the large order was for so, I told her that I was going to feed the homeless. She wanted to know how long I had been feeding the homeless and I said, “I just started today, praise God”. She was so moved by my testimony that she offered to make double cheeseburgers for the same price as a single.

That day I prayed with so many homeless people on the streets with real problems and in need of much more than I thought I was capable of giving. So I asked myself, can one person make a difference? When I went home I couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened and began wondering if God had chosen me for this assignment. As the week went by I began to pray on it. I was anxious to go back on the streets that it became very clear to me that this was the Kingdom work that God would have me do and that was the beginning of Take HIM to the Streets Ministry.
